Support for young mum to access education

A young lady aged 15 years from Czechoslovakia visited a Community Ventures Nash Dom drop in at Westfield centre in the beginning of April 2017, she had recently given birth to a baby boy, she was assisted by her uncle and they wanted to know if she would be entitled to any benefits. As she was under the age of 16-years-old and had no NI number she was not able to claim benefits for the baby.

We also liaised with her support worker as she required additional support. She had been unable to sit her GCSE exams and she is now due to go back into education to redo them in September

She has recently come back to see us, as her mother no longer wants her to live with her and has asked her and and her baby to move out. We have arranged a meeting with her support worker and mother to see what support she can get.
