Community Ventures successfully secured funding from the National Lottery community fund to deliver A Helping Hand to our local residents who were struggling during the pandemic. Having communicated and consulted with them and our partners who were providing support, our team identified many gaps in services which were having a detrimental impact on the health and wellbeing of people in our local communities.

Our helping hand project offered services to these people and ensured that they felt more supported during the very difficult period they were enduring with the enforced lockdowns and requirements to self isolate.

Community Ventures offered a bespoke  befriending service which included company and conversation via digital platforms along with lots of fun activities such as chair based exercise classes, musical bingo, quiz’s and hosting of cook along tutorials for families which included us providing families with a box of healthy ingredients for them to prepare and to enjoy eating together .

We were also able to build upon the fantastic cooking in the community project and provide a further 250 meals to our most vulnerable isolated residents who are having to self isolate.

Community Ventures worked in partnership with local GP surgeries and our Adult Social Care team to identify residents in need of our services and we are delighted to have been able to provide support to these services and residents who really needed it during the COVID-19 pandemic.
