Nash Dom Service in Stoke-on-Trent

Community Ventures Nash Dom weekly surgeries helped Helena on her journey from a service user to a volunteer to a paid employee.

Helena came to the advice drop in session at Shelton, who following a recent separation with their partner had a problem with Child benefit and child tax credit. Following our help, she asked about volunteering opportunities with Community Ventures and she began to shadow our team and received our train the trainer training. In January 2017 Helena became an employed member of the team. She currently works as an advisor offering advice and guidance to community members in Stoke on Trent. Helena would like to work more hours with Community Ventures, and will soon be starting her NVQ level 2 advice and guidance, which will give her a recognised qualification.
